How often

You should brush your dog every couple of days no matter the length of his coat.

Type of brush

Different breeds require different care when it comes to grooming. For example, long-haired dogs such as St.Bernards and Huskies would require brushes with more spacing between the bristles. For dogs with silky coats, the bristles can be more flexible in comparison to stiffer bristles for coarse coats.

On the other hand stripping, combs are useful for dogs with wire coats (e.g. Terriers) because the widely spaced stainless steel wires will strip and detangle in one-step. It’s best to research your pet’s breed and the type of grooming brush best suited to your puppy.

How should I use this product?

Here are some Petsy tips on brushing your dog:

1. Find a safe, quiet place to brush your dog.

2. Ask your dog to sit, and then give them a treat. Always try to start your grooming ritual on a good note.

3. Try and follow a regular schedule with brushing

4. If your dog has very tangled hair, spray some conditioner to loosen knots and tangles. Remember, always read the product label before applying to determine if it is the right product for your dog.

5. Use firm but gentle strokes. Brush close to your pet's skin, but NOT the skin itself. Long strokes are ideal for long-haired dogs, and short strokes for short-haired dogs.

Remember to avoid over-brushing/grooming your dog as it could quickly turn into a painful process for your furry friend.
